The Carriage

She sits in anticipation as the train pulls into the station, scanning the platform she looks for that familiar face. There he was waiting patiently for the doors to open, he steps in and takes his usual seat near the door.

She notices his new haircut and smiles approvingly, it makes him look like Brad Pitt. Still smiling she catches the eye of a man sitting opposite her, who smiles back with a little wink. He's new, a bit greasy, looks like a yuppie, one of those city boys. No not her type, she'll stick with Ben.

That's what she called him, 'Ben', it was nice, he was nice. If only she could talk to him, what would she say, "Hi I'm..." No that wouldn't work. Just talk to him, she's annoyed at herself for being so shy, so boring, so...so probably not his type.

He's probably got a girlfriend, Candice, Stephanie, or Tamara. She's a model, tall, long legs, blonde, skinny, and..
The train stops Mr Greasy gets off and glances back at her, she cringes and realises that 'Ben' will get off at the next stop.

Its now or never, adrenalin pumps through her with each heart beat as she gets up and sits in the empty seat next to his. He smiles, Brad Pitt definitely. "Hi I'm Joanne," she says stretching out her hand. He takes it "Hi I'm.." Damn she's day dreaming again.

The train stops, the doors open, he gets off and follows the signs towards the exit. As the train leaves the platform he turns and watches her starring into the distance. She was always there when he got on the train, seated in the middle of the carriage. He sighed hoping she liked his haircut and was annoyed with his inability to speak to her
Tomorrow, he'll speak to her tomorrow.
