Its All Over

I've just sat my two exams today on website development and management and relational database management.

I'm glad its over, it wasn't as hard as I know it would have been if the course had run smoothly, but it also wasn't what I was expecting. However its over now and I'm happy, just got to get this work thing sorted out (I won't burden you with the details).

One thing that did surprise was that this guys phone rang at the beginning of the exams and he walked out the room to answer it. When he sat then I then noticed he was writing something on his phone, I don't think he was cheating or anything, just probably sending a text message. What surprised me was the lecturer, he didn't say or do anything as for as I could tell (who knows he may mark him down for it, though I doubt it).

Anyway that's it for now, have been asked to host cell group tomorrow so I'd better look at the notes. Good day and God's Blessings to all who still have exams.

Too sacred...

This is a little addition to my other post on to sacred to give away freely.

I was checking out CM Central and came across a topic on whether pre-marital sex is right or wrong. These are three opinions that I thought really summed up my view.

Why dont you join CM Central at the same time (kill two birds with one stone).

Male or Female Brain

I went to my Dads house on Saturday and found an old copy of Readers Digest, which I read. Here’s some of the fun stuff I found.

Do You Have a Male or Female Brain?

1) When someone gets upset can you see why? (a) Yes, usually quite quickly, (b) No,
2) If you were buying a car would you want specific details about its engine capacity? (a) Not too much detail. (b) Definitely.
3) How important are your relationships? (a) Very important. (b) Not a high priority.
4) When you’re doing DIY, do you cut corners to get the job done? (a) Yes. (b) No, I’m always meticulous.
5) How easy would you find it to explain something to someone else, if they hadn’t understood it first time? (a) Very easy. (b) Quite difficult
6) Do you prefer to read? (a) Features about relationships. (b) Articles that are fact based.
7) Can you tell if someone wants to join a conversation? (a) I find it easy. (b)I find it quite hard.
8) Do you find map reading easy? (a) Quiet hard. (b) Very easy.
9) How do you generally feel in social situations? (a) I usually feel comfortable. (b) I often feel like leaving.
10) How organised is your cd collection? (a) Not at all. (b) Highly
11) If their was a problem with the wiring in your home, what would you do? (a) Get someone else to fix it. (b) Try to fix it myself.
12) How did you feel in maths lessons in school? (a) I found numbers boring and disliked maths. (b) I was intrigued by the rules governing numbers.
13) What do you think when you watch the weather forecast? (a) Bored by the technical details. (b) Interested in meteorological patterns.
14) Describe your attitude when you’re having a discussion. (a) I can tell quickly if I’m putting my point across too forcefully. (b) I’m sometimes unsure when enough is enough.

When I did it I found I had a balanced brain. I got equal amounts of A’s and B’s. How about you?

Analysis: If you got more A’s than B’s (with a difference of more than 3), you have a female brain.
If you got more B’s than A’s (with a difference of more than 3), you have a male brain.
If you got a similar number of A’s and B’s (with a difference of less than 3), you have a balanced brain.

Last message

In regards to my last post, your going to have to highlight it to see what the results represent. Because my template is dark it won't show up.

Ok, I was reading Em's blog and decided to to this test, these are my results which I was very suprised about. I was kinda thinking of voting Lib Dems (though i said Labour as my expected 'cause thats how I thought it would turn out). Im tired of Labour and Blair and the Tories just dont appeal to me.

Who Should You Vote For?

Who should I vote for?

Your expected outcome:

Labour

Your actual outcome:

Labour -18
Conservative -19
Liberal Democrat 37
UK Independence Party 1
Green 50

You should vote: Green

The Green Party, which is of course strong on environmental issues, takes a strong position on welfare issues, but was firmly against the war in Iraq. Other key concerns are cannabis, where the party takes a liberal line, and foxhunting, which unsurprisingly the Greens are firmly against.

Take the test at Who Should You Vote For

Well I guess only time will tell who wins. I just hope its noe the Tories. Michael Howard as PM *cringe*

An utter state of boredom

I've got some time to kill before I head off to my cell meeting (fellowship group), im not sure what to write but I just thought Id write something. I did write a little piece about Brit t.v vs US t.v but something went wrong and it didnt post (if it does turn up ignore this). So now im short of things to do and say. When I get home i'll probably regret this time im currently wasting, but at the moment im stuck. I think will end this post now, believe me I can go on like this for hours its just that this 2litre challenge means im always having to pop to the loo (toilet) and i've just about drank 1 litre.

ANTM vs MMAS

Some of you will be aware of America's Next Top Model or Make Me A Supermodel. For those of you who dont they're the modelling version of Pop/American ect.. Idol (depending on which country your in, though Pop was the original).

Im usually not into these kind of shows, but this year was the third series of ANTM and it was really good, my whole family got into it, our favourite actually won "Go Eva". Tonights episode (10pm on Living t.v reapeated at 1pm on Living+. ) will show what the ladies are doing after the contest.

The reason im writing this is because here in blighty they came up with MMAS, which (as i predicted) was bland in comparison, and not (in my opinion) a good contender to ANTM.
Why is it when we do something over here in England its never quite as good or exciting as how they do it in the states? (except for Coupling and other comedy shows).
Come on people we have to step it up. Yes you can produce good films and t.v shows but not when you try to copy the U.S. Your only redeeming features are your soaps (there's are too unrealistic) and comedies (there's rely too much on one liners).

Please Mr. T.V producer man, get to work.

A Warm Welcome

This afternoon I got an email from my resource team leader at church. His wife gave birth yesterday to a little girl.
So I just want to welcome Jamine Anika Rainey into the world and let her know that we're are glad to finally see her.
All the best to Mark and Pereen (mum and dad).

Two Days Left

On April 15th 2004 I embarked on a great challenge, I began a book called cover to cover, through the Bible as it happened, in one year. Thursday 14th of April 2005 will be my last day. Man its been interresting, Ive found that reading the Bible has become much easier. Before I would wince at the thought of reading 1 or 2 chapters in one sitting (this still applies for Psalm 119) because I thought it was so long. Now its nothing and given the opporunity (and the space to myself) I can read up 5 even 8 chapters (it was a long bus ride). I did fall back at one point, I ended up being 2 months behind because I lost the book, but I caught up. Im so excited, the whole Bible in one year, I would recommend everyone who reads this post to get a copy.

The 2ltr Challenge

Well they say we need 2 litres of water a day, and how right they are. Yesterday was the first monday in 3 weeks that I havn't gone home with a headache and nausea and then vomitted all over the carpet (couldn't get to the bath room in time). So im committing my self to doing my best to drink the required 2 litres. So far I've managed about 1.5 litres and it does help, I feel much better. I told Jimmy about my dehydration problem and he couldnt get his head round it. Thought it was a little wierd (where's the sympathy), though he did send an encouraging txt.

My blogging mates cont.

My uni friend Ilknur has just made a blog. So check it out. As with my other friends, you mess with her, you mess with me.

Dont Buy It

On saturday I met up with Ilknur my group member, see group work (dark side of studying). Our uni was closed so we went to Cafe Nero (Starbuck's is sooo much better, maybe Emily has the right idea). Anyway while there a guy came upto a group of men sitting next to us selling a didgital camcorder for £20
"bargain.."
"...hold on my friend read on".

Ilknur turned to me and told me how that same guy had sold a laptop to her friend. He shows it to you to demonstrate that it works perfectly. If you decide to buy he tells you to come to his car where his associate is waiting. With a quick flick of the hand he swaps the case that has the perfect laptop (or whatever he's selling) with a case containing a faulty one. You then go home feeling proud of yourself until you try to turn it on and realise that you've been duped.

So these guys at the table decide to buy the camcorder and the seller buys one of them a coke to sweeten the deal. Ilknur then tells the guys not to buy it and challenges the seller saying that she's seen him before, he denies it of course and tells the guys not to listen but they do and decide not to buy. The seller leaves and they get to keep the coke.

What would have happended had we not been there?
I was angry that the uni wasnt open, but now I believe that my Father in heaven planned it that way.

So please, no matter how good a bargain it is dont be tempted to buy, if its too good to be true then you know its probably not that good.
Stay wise and watchful

Group Work (the dark side of studying)

Next week im supposed to hand in and present a marketing plan. We have been placed in groups by my lecturer (wanted to choose group myself but he wanted us to mix). My group consisted of Ilknur (Managing Director), Zubair (Marketing Manager, formerly the production manager), Nabel (Finance Manager), Usman (Franchise Manager, we had to make that up because there was an extra person), and myself (Production Manager, formerly the marketing manager).

With 1 week to go the group now consists of Ilknur, Nabel and myself. Usman was there the day we formed groups and then disappeared and turned up today asking what was going on, so he is fired (he offered typing services, which were regected by the MD, and rightly so).

Zubair is not enthusiastic, he doesnt seem to want to take part and doesnt make any effort to contribute. Whenever we have a group meeting he makes an excuse for why he cant come and doesnt even seem appologetic. He comes late to lectures then dissapears during the break only to reappear 5 mins before the class ends (he goes to play snooker). He was the production manager but said he couldnt do it because he didnt know anything about the bussiness (a cosmetic dentistery clinic, very high class) and wanted to do siomething else, so we swapped and he still doesnt seem to know what needs to be done. I think this is mainly because we didnt go with his idea of distributing international phone cards, but we felt there was nothing we could do with this, they're all pretty much the same. He has been fired (officially today).

This is the problem with group work, you have to rely on other people who dont know in most cases. If they dont pull there wait either the groups suffers or every on else does the work and they get the credit that comes along with it. Everyone ends up with the same mark no matter what their contribution. You feel bad if you have to kick some one out of the group, but cheated if you keep them in (what a dilema).

I think its time that a new system was put in place. Members of the grouop have to show how they contributed to the final product and be marked accordingly, ensuring all freeloaders pull their weight.

Public Transport Etiquette

A few things to remember the next time your on public transport.

For passengers
  • Don't put your feet on the seats
  • Don't block the doors or stairs
  • If an elderly person or pregnant woman gets on offer a seat if there aren't any available
  • No one cares what Jenny said to Sally so keep your voice down, especially on mobiles (your louder than you think)
  • Offer the space available to people with push chairs and wheelchair's
  • Don't bring alcohol on board, if it spills it stinks the place up
  • Don't eat smelly food, people don't want to be smelling of donar kebab
  • Don't try to sneak on and pretend not to hear the driver when he/she tells you to get off

For drivers

  • Wait until all passengers are on the bus before closing the doors
  • Wait until all passengers are off the bus before closing the doors
  • If someone runs upto the bus and you've already closed the doors open them again. It may be sometime before another bus comes
  • When someone presses the bell, stop so they can get off the bus (happend to me today driver claims I didn't give him enough time but I did.)
  • Drive carefully, you driving a bus not a formula1 racing car
  • Drive a little faster its a bus not a tractor
  • Don't use a mobile phone, many lives are in your hands
  • When changing drivers don't use it as an opportunity to catch up on the gossip. Switch driver and continue the journey, people have places to go.

Thats all I can think of, my class starts soon so ill leave you to ponder the above.

God's Power aka James (Jimmy)

Its September 2004 and im on the bus minding my own business listening to music and reading a book (Joyce Mayer's Battlefield of The Mind. *which im yet to finish*). Im on my way to my dad's house to cut down the small tree in his back garden so it would look nice when he got out of hospital (he had a stroke). From the corner of my eye I see a guy standing by the exit doors, he looks in my direction and decides to sit next to me.

I don't make anything of it and continue to read,
"Hello", I look up not sure if someone is talking to me, then go back to my book,
"Hello", there it is again, "Please God, please say he's not talking to me, I dont have the strength for this now", I say to myself.
"Hello" (He is very persistent), "Ok", I say,"I'll talk to him".

I turn and say hello back and a conversation begins about family and church (so far so good), then as usual it leads to this:
Him: "Do you have a number"
Me: "Yes"
Him: "Can I have it"?
Me: "No, I dont give my number to people I dont know"
Him:"If you give me your number we can get to know each other"
Me: "(How many times have I heard that)"

In the end I take his number and agree to call him to invite him to my church. About a month later things are official and 6 months after that here we are.

So that's how I met Jimmy, if I had ignored him (as I usually do) things would have been a whole lot different.

(If your wondering, it took me hours to cut that tree down using a pair of hedge clippers. Then his social workers tells everyone I got someone in to do it).
